Video: Copyright & Tech 2010 (Pt. 2)

In this excerpt from the Copyright and Technology 2010 Conference, Stanley Pierre-Louis, Viacom VP and Associate General Counsel, discusses Viacom and its approach to copyright. He stresses that Viacom places an emphasis on copyright in order to protect its own property as well as the income afforded to artists, producers and creators. Viacom, he says, is prepared to defend its content in court, but that litigation is not the preferred or even the most effective way to protect against piracy. Technology affords more cost effective tools that can be most easily integrated into delivery systems.
